About Me: Started running in my 40s and crossed the threshold into unhealthy annual mileage (2500+) in 2016. Realized early on that running alone is dumb so I take some credit for pulling other like-minded fools together to share mileage. Almost certainly the biggest beneficiary of the community workouts, I LOVE showing up for the weekend long runs!
Best known for my inflamed glutes, above average durability and low resting heart rate. I’m a Gemini.

About Me: I started running early on in school and took a 4 year break after getting burnt out giving a half-effort in 2 years of college running (Keene State). I returned to finding my love for running in 2016 through stealing Strava segments and exploring new parts of every town with CityStrides. I like to think I assisted my wife Kayla rediscover her love for running by taking her along for the ride while I was marathon training when we started dating.
Favorite Workout: “Surprise” fast finish long runs
Favorite PR: Hampton Half Marathon 2021: just barely edging out a fellow STC member by 2 seconds because of COVID related staggered starts <3.

About Me: My introduction to organized sports was Little League, where I continued to learn just how competitive I was while challenging the bigger, so-called stronger boys to race around the bases. To this day, it’s hard to find ladies to run with, and the STC will fill that void (though I welcome the company of men too!)
I ran for the better 😉 (though not the original) BU, Bucknell University, with Mathematics and Spanish degrees and moved to New York City in 2010. I continued my streak of never paying for a pair of running shoes by joining the Central Park Track Club, then sponsored by New Balance. I continued to run XC, Indoor Track, and Outdoor Track, but my legs wanted something else. Enter Triathlon in 2013, where I reintroduced swimming and started cycling. I started competing in the pro field in 2018 and have since only improved in all three sports!
I only run three days a week but I want to make more of those three days less solitary; my half marathon PR is after a swim and bike, so I’d like to change that with the STC too and do a few “open” half marathons and Cross Country 5Ks and 6Ks!
Favorite Workout: I’ll spare the bike details, but my annual “double brick” of bike-run-bike-run where the running totals 6 miles at 6:20 pace is a standout! I also love a long run where I take 3x as many gels as anyone else.
Favorite PR: 2019 USATF National Club Cross Country 6K, 21:36; 2023 Ironman Boulder 70.3, 4:15 (even though triathlon PRs aren’t a thing 😜)

About Me: One of the senior members of the team. Ran my first marathon (Boston) in 2000 and another 19 marathons since then. Wife Beth runs as does daughter Annika and son Enzo. I have a vertical of 12 Saunders T-shirts. I enjoy running/suffering with others more than running alone and it’s cheaper than therapy.
Favorite Workout: Yasso 800’s
Favorite PR: NYC Marathon 2017

About Me: Started running as a youth with my Dad growing up in the Bay Area and was immediately hooked after running races like the Bay to Breakers and Houlihans to Houlihans.
I ran Cross-Country up until relocating to Maine where running took a backseat to lacrosse, skiing and hiking and became an official hobby-jogger until October, 2019.
Spent several years clawing my way back to mediocrity before having the opportunity to connect with the Seacoast. Artfully dodging any meaningful PR’s to ensure my next race looks that much better and everyone else looks that much faster.
Favorite Workout: Progressive Tempo during the Long Run
Favorite PR: 2024 Sugarloaf Marathon. While not terribly impressive at 3:18, this was my first marathon and it took a lot to get here, including a canceled marathon a month prior.

About Me: Masters runner chasing unrealistic Gen-Z fitness levels. My favorite race distance is the Half and I’m at my happiest pushing fellow runners to their breaking point on Route 1A. A father of two, I’m humbled on a daily basis by my family of runners that includes my wife with an unmatched commitment to her goals, my daughter who is more competitive than I will ever be, my son with an inspiring level on confidence on any field of play, and a father who shows no signs of slowing down, even at 78 chasing age-group wins. Above all, I’m a product of a strong community and here to keep other fellow runners on pace for their goals.
Favorite Workout: Long run with a progression into the pain cave.
Favorite PR: While it wasn’t a PR, back in 2021 I won the Colony Hot Oil Pizza 5K in Fairfield, CT. It was a big win for me as I was able to close with speed catching the leader coming into the final turn, and it was just one week after running a PB at the New York City Marathon. This event was a bucket-list race for years and with the win, I took home free pizza for a year at one of my favorite spots!

About Me: I’ve been hooked on running since I started in 7th grade, and hope to run as long as my body will hold up to it. My wife Kathy and I are enjoying the challenge of getting training in while raising our two young kids. We are very thankful for our treadmill and stationary bike. I had major FOMO when the SLRG runs went behind the Northwoods paywall, and I’m looking forward to the team’s eponymous track workouts and races in the future!
Favorite Workout: 800s at 5k pace
Favorite PR: BU Terrier Invite 2009
Christine Shaw
About Me: I found my love for running at Fitchburg High School (MA) then Boston University. I met my now husband (Phil Shaw!) while we were on the team at BU. After a series of injuries, I was able to work my way up to running a decent marathon at age 30. My long term dream is to “compete” again while soaking in my kids as much as possible!
Favorite Workout: Marathon long runs
Favorite PR: CIM 2015

About Me: I’ve been running way too long, which is to say, since starting high school in 1999. I ran in college at BU, where I met my now-wife Christine Shaw. Since then we’ve moved to NYC, NH, Colorado and back to NH, while starting a family. I’m excited to start competing in the Masters division in 2025.
Favorite Workout: 2 x 4mi tempo
Favorite PR: New Bedford Half 2014
